This time of year, it’s just great to walk or ride a bike over the Cooper River, on the Arthur Ravenelle Junior Bridge! The views are the best from the Mount Pleasant side.

One of the best beaches to visit is on Sullivan’s Island. It’s usually not quite as crowded as the others, and just exquisite. Or, you could also do a picnic in Hampton Park! All of these activities are great to do with the whole family.

If you’d like to see an Eighteenth Century house that’s completely preserved, go to Drayton Hall, a plantation that will take you back into time!

Don’t miss Angel Oak, which is located just outside of Charleston on John’s Island. It’s about 66 feet tall and 28 feet in circumference, and it’s over 500 years old!

You won’t want to leave down without going down fabulous King Street, where you can visit the little shops, eat at the local restaurants, and grab an ice cream to enjoy by the waterfront and the giant Pineapple Fountain!

Nation’s Capital Entertainment

The month of July celebrates our nation’s independence, and what better place to be than our nation’s Capital! There’s nothing like it.

Luckily, there are many free events, such as Jazz in the Garden on Fridays. Throughout the summer, there are concerts held in the National Gallery of the Art’s sculpture section. The Folklife Festival is also free, and it’s in its final weekend at the National Mall.

There is one place that’s truly an unforgettable experience for kids. The Smithsonian is doing a sleepover at the National Museum of Natural History! The age range of the event is children ages 8 to 12 years old, and parents are welcome to help supervise. What a fun event!

Also, the Riverfront of the Capital at Yard Park is having a free concert series every Friday Night throughout August. If you want to celebrate performing arts, the city-wide Capital Fringe Festival runs through July 29th.  It includes improvisation, drama, punk rock shows and colorful dance, all over the Washington DC area, from local churches to the Pearl Street Warehouse!

Play Ball is happening in July, located at the Navy Yard. It connects the relationship of the US Navy and baseball! Many of the items of Major League Players are on display at the National Museum of the US Navy. It’s an outing the whole family can enjoy!

You don’t want to miss Fun House – it’s open through Labor Day. It features a bunch of interactive experiences that will boggle your mind! It’s free at the National Building Museum.

Spring Marches on in May in Palm Beach County

This is the week that everyone has been waiting for!

Our annual Sunfest from May 3rd to the 6th in West Palm Beach. Four days, three stages, 50 bands, and thousands of people all having a wonderful time. Definitely get your tickets and check it out, you don’t want to miss.

The movie that everyone has been waiting for, The Avengers: Infinity War has a cast that’s phenomenal: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Josh Brolin…A must see, especially on the IMAX if you get a chance!

This Saturday Night at Voltaire on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach, there will be a Tropical Night of Jazz with Deb Silver! She’ll be singing and swinging, a must see – I see her every time she is in town, she’s one of my favs, and I recommend it to everyone!

Spring has sprung, and there’s some wonderful art to still see at the Norton Art Museum, especially Thursday nights from 5 PM to 9 PM, it’s Art After Dark – check it out!

Florida’s largest monthly antique event is taking place soon. The Vintage Deco and Antique Festival  is held from May 4th through the 6th, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Lots of amazing pieces, and over 200 dealers!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner on the 13th of May. Make your reservations early, from tea at the Flagler Museum to wonderful Mother’s Day Brunch at the Colony Hotel. It should be a wonderful way to spend time with the family.

With April Showers May is Flowering in Palm Beach County

Come rain or come shine, Palm Beach County is a wonderful place to be in April!

Set aside April 29th to see the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, presented by the Black Jacket Symphony at the Kravis Center. It should be a fabulous night! Check their website here for further information.

Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches is doing Mozart’s Requiem on Sunday, April 29th at 4 PM at the Meyer Hall on the campus of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts here in West Palm Beach. Swinging and singing – Deb Silver is back at Voltaire the first Saturday of the month. Make a reservation for VIP at sub-culture.org/voltaire. The club is located on Clematis Street.

Busy Buzzing Around in April in Palm Beach County

Here we are in April and I’m still buzzing around, and everybody else seems to be too!

It might be a tough ticket, but The Bodyguard is playing through the weekend at the Kravis Center. Also, don’t forget Chris Botti is coming to the Kravis Center on the 18th. He is always a sellout, so don’t hesitate to call right away! I’m excited that I’m going to be seeing Carole Bufford this weekend! She’ll be at the Kravis Center at 1:30 PM this Saturday, April 14th. She’ll be doing a couple shows, and she’s a wonderful talent.

Ready to hear a siren singing in a fun artistic atmosphere? Ann Hampton Callaway will be performing at the Arts Garage on Friday night, April 13th.

On Sunday night you can catch Mark Telesca at the Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton! Then on Monday, he’s the host of the Blues Jam, which is free admission, and a wonderful way to spend an evening.
