Feb in the Fast Lane

We’re staying in the fast lane here in Palm Beach County as February is ending and March is just around the corner.

On February 22nd at 8 PM, the David Paladino Band will be playing at Maven in Palm Beach, the old Nick and Johnnie’s, along with jazz piano player Stephen Scott! A lovely evening of entertainment.

Also, on the 23rd through the 25th is the Palm Beach Opera’s Candide! Tickets are available at the Kravis, or pbopera.org.

One event that’s sure to be interesting is Palm Beach Society Through the Years, an interview with David Patrick Columbia given through the Coudert Institute. Go online to courdertinstitute.org for further information.

Steve Tyrell will be at The Colony’s Royal Room! You can catch his show from February 27th to March the 10th – tickets are selling fast! Call for reservations.

Another little hidden jewel of the theater is the Delray Beach Playhouse. Find out more by visiting delraybeachplayhouse.org. It’s a wonderful little spot!

Palm Beach Dramaworks has a new series; Talking Theater – Conversations with Industries Top Professionals. March 6th they’ll be having a live interview with the actor Bill Pullman – should be wonderful! Call them at 561 – 514 -4042 for tickets.

Masterwork Chorus is having their program, at the DeSantis Family Chapel on February 25th at 4 PM. Great for the entire family, with Disney favorites everyone will enjoy – go to masterworkspb.org for further information.

The Keith C. & Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center, another amazing performing arts center, has numerous programs going on throughout the season. Call their Box Office, 561-237-9000. A first class venue, and first class performances on the campus of Lynn University in Boca Raton.

Everyone in the family can participate on Saturday, March 3rd during the West Palm Beach Evening on Antique Row. For ticket information and general or VIP events, go to HSPBC.org.

The School of the Arts Foundation supports the brightest young stars from the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. This weekend, the 24th and the 25th, go see the Caucasian Chalk Circle. For ticket information, soafi.org.

Palm Beach is Poppin’ in February

Again, there’s so much happening in Palm Beach County this week I don’t know where to begin!

Mark Telesca Friday night in Boyton Beach at the Pig-Sty! He’s doing an acoustic blues set. On Monday nights every week, Mark Telesca is the host of the Funky Biscuit Blues Jam. Not to be missed!

This Saturday night it’s Sinatra Saturday at Harbourside Place. Right across the street, “Popeye” will be performing at Double Roads Tavern in March, so check the Double Roads Schedule! He is a fabulous singer.

Deborah Silver will be performing at the RRazz Room in the Mizner Park Cultural Center this Saturday, February 10th at 7:30. Contact the RRazz Room or the Mizner Park Cultural Center for tickets.

Avery Sommers, one of my favorites, will be performing at the Kravis Perrson Hall Friday and Saturday night – contact them for further information. It should be phenomenal!

Legends very own Jill and Rich will be performing at the Pelican Cafe on Sunday night the 11th! Call them at 561-842-7272 for reservations.

I am very excited to announce that on our local PBS, WXEL on Thursday nights there will be a six-part series called Battleground Everglades. Please watch and check your local paper for local listings. I think it’s something that is going to be very important to everyone in our area.

The Benzaiten Art Center in Lake Worth is having a fundraiser on the 9th of February. There will be food, drink, live music and more to celebrate and support the art of blowing glass. Contact the Benzaiten Art Center here for more information. It’s a fabulous place to see!

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week, and at the Convention Center in West Palm Beach there will be the Palm Beach Art and Antique Show, and the Craft Show upstairs! Always a fabulous event.

On the dramatic side, we have the Palm Beach Dramaworks in West Palm Beach featuring On Golden Pond. Get your tickets here!

Through the Nantucket Comedy Festival you can get tickets for a fabulous dinner and comedy show at Table 26 on February 21st. It’s going to be fabulous! I’ve been going since the beginning and I highly recommend this evening out for a great cause.

A Celebrity-Filled February in Palm Beach

It is one amazing event after another here in Palm Beach County this week!

On February 2nd, you might be able to get a seat last minute at the Eissey Theater in Palm Beach Gardens to celebrate Legends Radio’s Fourth Anniversary Celebration with special guest Steve Tyrell, straight from New York’s Carlyle Hotel! Also coming up at The Colony is Dean Martin’s daughter, Deanna Martin, performing over Valentine’s day for a few days! Contact the Colony Hotel for reservations – beautiful singer and beautiful voice.

If you didn’t get a chance to see Michael Feinstein’s first performance of the season at the Kravis conducting the Kravis Pop Orchestra, don’t miss his concert on the 28th of February! January’s Jivin’ in Palm Beach

It’s coming to the end of January, and things are still jammin’ here in Palm Beach County!

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is one of my favorites, and closing this weekend is Hairspray! I think Inspector Calls is almost completely sold out from February 4th to the 18th, so hurry up and try to get a ticket! If not, South Pacific is coming and will show in March from the 5th to the 25th. Get your tickets way in advance – it’s a wonderful, wonderful theater, and they do fabulous productions. At the Photographic Center in West Palm Beach they have Foto Fusion coming this Saturday, and there will be over 60 photographers participating in this wonderful event – not to be missed!

Puccini’s Tosca is coming to The Palm Beach Opera at the Kravis Center January 26th to the 28th. Tickets are selling out fast! Visit pbopera.org for further information.

If you’re into remodeling your home, the Palm Beach Winter Home and Remodeling Show is happening at the Palm Beach County Convention Center this weekend, and I recommend you check it out, it’s free!

My charity pick of the week is for breast cancer awareness! A good way to get involved with the cause is participating in the Susan G. Koman South Florida Race for the Cure down at the Meyer Amphitheater this Saturday. Check their website here for further information and registration.

My movie pick of the week is Phantom Thread with Daniel Day Lewis! And, speaking of films, the Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival starts January 18th and goes until February the 11th. Over 25 days, 80 screenings, 6 theaters…An amazing event! Go to palmbeachjewishfilm.org.

Jammin’ in January

As usual, there’s so much happening in Palm Beach County this week I don’t know where to begin!

Art Palm Beach is at the Convention Center this week from Thursday through Sunday, dedicated to emerging artists and masterworks of contemporary art. Check for times at their website, right here.

The South Florida Fair is going on, and if you venture that way you can enjoy one of the largest Ferris Wheel’s in the country – fun for the whole family!

A special event will be taking place at the Palm Beach Zoo on Thursday, January 18th from 6 to 8 PM. Emmy-Award-Winning documentary camera man Tom Fitz will be discussing the challenges of photographing wild animals. It is part of the Conservation Leadership Lecture Series. Contact the Palm Beach Zoo for further information.

Another great family outing is going to the Palm Beach Vegfest at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton! Vegan treats of all kinds and other exotic items, yoga accessories, all for sale – it’s free! Go to pbvegfest.com for further information.
