Life is Flowering This April in Palm Beach County

With April showers, there is a lot of activity flowering in Palm Beach County this week.

PLANT-A-PALOOZA 2017 this week at Mount’s Botanical Garden is featuring and an amazing assortment of exotic plants and flowers. The best part is, you can take them home! It’s on Saturday and Sunday April 29th and 30th.

On April 21st from 5 to 8 PM, we have the APBC, Art on Park Gallery in Lake Park. It’s the opening reception for the Still Life 2017 Exhibit featuring artist Barry Seidman.

April 27th brings about the Love Fest 2017, an event at Rocco’s Tacos in Palm Beach Gardens to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Please call for a reservation through Revolution’s Dating. Don’t miss your spot at this Love Fest!

With the season coming to an end, there’s a celebration and it’s the End of the Season Party at Cafe L’Europe with entertainers Philippe Harari and Bobbi Rae! If you want to dance the night away, make your reservation soon or you won’t get a table. It’s going to be a fun night!

For you theater goers out there, if you’re a fan of Neil Simon, it’s They’re Playing Our Song at the Lake Worth playhouse April 15th through the 30th.

Different cast, different theater, still a story that will delight all.

If you’re a social butterfly, and have a conscience, you’ll want to go to the Butterfly Ball! It benefit’s The Lord’s Place and St. Ann’s. It’s being held at the Sailfish Club in Palm Beach on Saturday April 22nd at 7 PM. Call Tierney O’Hara at 561-449-1212 to reserve a spot. It’s an exclusive Palm Beach party, and the funds raised go to a wonderful charity.

My movie pick of the week is The Zookeeper’s Wife. It’s a very moving story that takes place in 1939, in Warsaw, Poland.

A personal favorite of mine is seeing my little 13-year-old rising star Ava Faith sing at the Jazz Jam at Double Roads Tavern in Jupiter this Sunday April 23rd from 5 to 9 PM. Not to be missed!

Remember, with the season being full of sunshine and flowers, wear those beautiful whites and brights and pastels and it’s all about style.

In Like a Lion

March is coming in like a lion with a real roar this week in Palm Beach County!

On March 2nd and 11th, we’ve got the Palm Beach Pin-Up Party! It’s full of jazz, blues, R&B, and Latin at the Bowery in City Place. It’s a party that won’t disappoint!

A dynamic duo, Lillian and Michael are singing and swinging at Trevini Restaurant every Sunday from 6 until 10 for the rest of the season. What a wonderful way to spend an evening.

My movie pick of the week is Moonlight. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture. A must-see!

Fun things on the art scene: From March 8th through the 12th we have the Plein Air Art Festival at the Lighthouse Art Center in Jupiter.

If you haven’t made it to the 10 x 10 Show at the Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches in Lake Worth, Bruce Helander will be discussing it on March the 4th at 3 o’clock. My work is in it, please come by!

January is Flying By

January is still flying by with wonderful things to do in Palm Beach County!

January 26^th, it’s the H.O.W luncheon (Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper), titled Time is of the Essence, with special guest Laura Linney!

Another important charitable event in Palm Beach, The Palm beach Zoo and Conservation Society Tropical Safari Black Tie Gala at Mar-a-Lago on Friday, the 27^th.

Madame Butterfly, Palm Beach Opera at the Kravis Center. Tickets are going fast – showing January 27^th through the 29^th.

At the Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, 60 photographers and visual artists will be gathering for the annual FOTOfusion through Saturday Lots of programs worth checking out.

Movie pick of the week: Twentieth Century Woman, with Annette Bening and Billy Crudup.

Directly from Birdland in New York City, it’s Billy Stritch and Jim Caruso cast party at the The Fieldhouse at Old School Square, February 1^st. An evening full of entertainment and fun.

Billy is a friend of mine, and his shows are always fantastic!
