Love is in the Air

There’s still love in the air this February, and lots to do!

Free for all, Harmony: an Exhibition of the Arts featuring Ballet Palm Beach and Palm Beach Symphony will be held on Sunday, February 26th from 2 PM until 4 PM at the Meyer Amphitheatre in downtown West Palm.

A great activity for the whole family is the Food Truck Festival at the Palm Beach Outlets on February 25th from 12 PM until 6 PM. Delicious!

Another great festival is the Street Painting Festival down on Lake Worth on February 25th and 26th. Take a peek.

And not to be missed, Collected Stories at the Palm Beach Dramaworks through March the 5th. A wonderful event at the Norton Art Museum, Bijoux Preview on March 1st.

On February 25th at 8 PM, it’s comedienne Julia Scotti and Sal “the voice” Valentinetti at Old School Square in Del Ray Beach. A fun night for all.

Have an evening at The Wick with Supper Club starring Jill and Rich Switzer – they’re doing a tribute to the Rat Pack! Champagne dancing and gourmet dining, February 27th at 6:30 PM in Boca Raton.

Valentine’s Week in Palm Beach

This is the week of Valentine’s Day, and it’s a week of love and delicious activities.

The art scene is hot! The Palm Beach Fine Craft Show is at the Convention Center from the 17th to the 19th.

Beautiful works of art and crafts from all over the world, right here in Palm Beach.

The Paul Fisher Gallery at the Flamingo Building in West Palm Beach is having “L’Eruption,” a series featuring the artwork of Sergio Lopez.

On Saturday the 18th from 9 AM until 3 PM we have a big book sale at the King Library. The Society of Four Arts is helping to raise money for the library by selling hundreds of new and gently used books.

A great chance to get some new books and help the library.

At the Brazilian Court, it’s jazz every Sunday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Café Boulud, a fun time for all! On the 19th at the Kravis Center, it’s Michael Feinstein and the Kravis Pops Orchestra, Big Band Swing.

Fire and Ice, the Palm Beach Symphony’s 15th Annual Gala will be held at The Breakers on the 20th of February. Get your tickets!

At The Colony, it’s John Pizzarelli and his wife Jessica Molaskey through the 25th of February. Talk about love – what a couple!

My movie pick of the week is Hidden Figures, the untold story of the African American women who helped NASA with one of the organization’s greatest accomplishments.

The Pulitzer Prize-Winning play Disgraced on stage at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre through February 28th. An absolute must-see!

February in Full Swing

Love continues to spread in Palm Beach this February. On Valentine’s Day it’s Steve Lawrence at the Kravis Center doing a tribute to Frank Sinatra. What a romantic way to spend an evening.

On February 9th, it’s the celebration of military war dogs at the Brazilian Court Hotel from 6 PM to 8:30 PM – a wonderful cause for the American Humane Society.

Another idea for a night out this week, because it’s all about love around Valentine’s day, is I Love Being Here With You, a show with Avery Sommers at the Art Garage on Friday February 10th. On the 12th at the Arts Garage, it’s Nicolas King.

A charity close to my heart, the Caridad Center is having their gala event, A Call to the Heart Ball at the Eau Hotel on February 18th. Reserve a seat now!

On February 11th at 7 PM it’s the Night of Stars, the 25th anniversary of the Kravis, a star studded evening.

For laughs, go see A Jew Grows in Brooklyn, a hilarious show, at the Boca Raton Mizner Park through the 26th of February.

At the Box Gallery on Belvedere, Friday February 10th it’s The Art of Fashion, and I will be showcasing some of my wearable art and accessories. Please come by and take a peek. Fabulous!

January is Flying By

January is still flying by with wonderful things to do in Palm Beach County!

January 26^th, it’s the H.O.W luncheon (Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper), titled Time is of the Essence, with special guest Laura Linney!

Another important charitable event in Palm Beach, The Palm beach Zoo and Conservation Society Tropical Safari Black Tie Gala at Mar-a-Lago on Friday, the 27^th.

Madame Butterfly, Palm Beach Opera at the Kravis Center. Tickets are going fast – showing January 27^th through the 29^th.

At the Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, 60 photographers and visual artists will be gathering for the annual FOTOfusion through Saturday Lots of programs worth checking out.

Movie pick of the week: Twentieth Century Woman, with Annette Bening and Billy Crudup.

Directly from Birdland in New York City, it’s Billy Stritch and Jim Caruso cast party at the The Fieldhouse at Old School Square, February 1^st. An evening full of entertainment and fun.

Billy is a friend of mine, and his shows are always fantastic!

For an offbeat, fun kind of evening in the arts, go see Art Meets Fashion, part of the continuum art series, in West Palm Beach. Go online for more information. Saturday, January 28^th, from six until ten.

This Palm Beach Season is Sizzling Hot

The season continues to be sizzling hot!

Mark your calendars, the 26th of January, Armory Art Center’s big gala event, Purple Reign. Not to be missed, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, it’s Todd McGrain’s “Lost Bird Project.” Very very interesting show for all ages – a memorial to extinct birds.

Speaking of animals, don’t forget to go to the Palm Beach Dramaworks to see their new play, Domestic Animals by Jennifer Faletto. The Golden Globe nominated picture Lion is my movie pick of the week!

Get a chance to see the Royal Park Bridge in Palm Beach! It’s all aglow in pink honoring breast cancer research and a race for the cure on January 28th.

Selections from the Roy R. Neuberger Collection, “When Modern was Contemporary,” at the Society of The Four Arts through January 29th – a must see.

It’s Art Palm Beach at the Convention Center! The fair is from the 19th to the 22nd. Fabulous contemporary art, sculpture and photography.
