Marvelous Month of May is Here!

May is here, and activities are really starting to heat up here in Palm Beach County this week!

Sunfest is still smoking hot through Sunday, with top musical acts, arts and crafts, delicious munchies, and the most incredible fireworks display ever! Sunday night, not to be missed – come with the whole family.

One of my most favorite things is The Sound of Music, coming to the Kravis Center for Performing Arts! It opens on May 9th, and you can get your tickets right here. What a wonderful way to spend an evening, singing Do Re Mi….

On the 13th of May, also at the Kravis Center, is American Tapestry, featuring the young singers of the Palm Beaches. There will be 350 voices, all singing broadway, jazz and pop songs. Not to be missed – a very entertaining evening for all.

If you are supportive of Palm beach County’s brightest youngest stars, you might enjoy going to the Dreyfoos School of the Arts to see one of their outstanding performances. All of May is a combination of spring dance concerts, theater senior showcases, choreography showcases, band concerts, jazz combos…It is just outstanding what these kids do! Click here to peruse the Spring calendar of events.

Don’t be a fool this April! There are many events worth checking out this week in Palm Beach County.

On April 6th, it’s The Modern Show, an art show at Studio 1608.  See the artworks at 1608 South Dixie in West Palm Beach. The event is sponsored by Piper’s Angel Foundation and will feature 25 to 40 artists at the exhibition – it’s not to be missed!

If it’s bluegrass you’re interested in, at the Pavilion at the Flagler Museum on Saturday April 8th at 3 in afternoon, enjoy Dailey and Vincent! Get your tickets in advance – it should be a good one.

If you haven’t been before, on Saturdays only from 9 AM until 1 in the afternoon through April 22nd we have the West Palm Beach Green Market. There is free parking in the Evernia city garages and Banyan parking. It has some of the best produce and wonderful gourmet goodies. I strongly suggest you go down there before it ends.

My movie pick of the week: Frantz, a film that takes place during the aftermath of World War I. Extremely moving – it was filmed in Germany and France.
