In Like a Lion

March is coming in like a lion with a real roar this week in Palm Beach County!

On March 2nd and 11th, we’ve got the Palm Beach Pin-Up Party! It’s full of jazz, blues, R&B, and Latin at the Bowery in City Place. It’s a party that won’t disappoint!

A dynamic duo, Lillian and Michael are singing and swinging at Trevini Restaurant every Sunday from 6 until 10 for the rest of the season. What a wonderful way to spend an evening.

My movie pick of the week is Moonlight. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture. A must-see!

Fun things on the art scene: From March 8th through the 12th we have the Plein Air Art Festival at the Lighthouse Art Center in Jupiter.

If you haven’t made it to the 10 x 10 Show at the Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches in Lake Worth, Bruce Helander will be discussing it on March the 4th at 3 o’clock. My work is in it, please come by!

Love is in the Air

There’s still love in the air this February, and lots to do!

Free for all, Harmony: an Exhibition of the Arts featuring Ballet Palm Beach and Palm Beach Symphony will be held on Sunday, February 26th from 2 PM until 4 PM at the Meyer Amphitheatre in downtown West Palm.

A great activity for the whole family is the Food Truck Festival at the Palm Beach Outlets on February 25th from 12 PM until 6 PM. Delicious!

Another great festival is the Street Painting Festival down on Lake Worth on February 25th and 26th. Take a peek.

And not to be missed, Collected Stories at the Palm Beach Dramaworks through March the 5th. A wonderful event at the Norton Art Museum, Bijoux Preview on March 1st.

On February 25th at 8 PM, it’s comedienne Julia Scotti and Sal “the voice” Valentinetti at Old School Square in Del Ray Beach. A fun night for all.

Have an evening at The Wick with Supper Club starring Jill and Rich Switzer – they’re doing a tribute to the Rat Pack! Champagne dancing and gourmet dining, February 27th at 6:30 PM in Boca Raton.

Valentine’s Week in Palm Beach

This is the week of Valentine’s Day, and it’s a week of love and delicious activities.

The art scene is hot! The Palm Beach Fine Craft Show is at the Convention Center from the 17th to the 19th.

Beautiful works of art and crafts from all over the world, right here in Palm Beach.

The Paul Fisher Gallery at the Flamingo Building in West Palm Beach is having “L’Eruption,” a series featuring the artwork of Sergio Lopez.

On Saturday the 18th from 9 AM until 3 PM we have a big book sale at the King Library. The Society of Four Arts is helping to raise money for the library by selling hundreds of new and gently used books.

A great chance to get some new books and help the library.

At the Brazilian Court, it’s jazz every Sunday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Café Boulud, a fun time for all! On the 19th at the Kravis Center, it’s Michael Feinstein and the Kravis Pops Orchestra, Big Band Swing.

Fire and Ice, the Palm Beach Symphony’s 15th Annual Gala will be held at The Breakers on the 20th of February. Get your tickets!

My movie pick of the week is Hidden Figures, the untold story of the African American women who helped NASA with one of the organization’s greatest accomplishments.

The Pulitzer Prize-Winning play Disgraced on stage at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre through February 28th. An absolute must-see!

Fabulous February

It’s the month of love in Palm Beach County, and February 3rd, Friday night it’s Jazz at the Mandel Public Library in West Palm Beach with the Lynn Simone Quartet from 5:30 to 7:30 PM – delicious.

At Mar-a-Lago, we have the 59th Annual Cancer Society Rock Palm Beach 2017, February 10th – not to be missed.

Evita, the Tony Award Musical is playing at the Lake Worth Playhouse through February 5th. I’m particularly excited about the 10 x 10 exhibition at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach in Lake Worth from February 3rd until March 18th. I will have one of my own personal 10 x 10s in the exhibition, so please come and take a peek!

Directly from off Broadway, the comedy hit My Son The Waiter is at the PGA Art Center February 2nd until March 19th. It should hit your funny bone! In Boyton Beach, it’s the International Kinetic Art Opening starting February 3rd to the 5th, Art in Motion. Go to the symposiums, fascinating!

In celebration, we’re having a concert: Deana Martin, a tribute to her dad “Dino,” and the rest of Dean’s friends, Uncle Frank included, on Tuesday February 7th to benefit the Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook.

January is Flying By

January is still flying by with wonderful things to do in Palm Beach County!

January 26^th, it’s the H.O.W luncheon (Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper), titled Time is of the Essence, with special guest Laura Linney!

Another important charitable event in Palm Beach, The Palm beach Zoo and Conservation Society Tropical Safari Black Tie Gala at Mar-a-Lago on Friday, the 27^th.

Madame Butterfly, Palm Beach Opera at the Kravis Center. Tickets are going fast – showing January 27^th through the 29^th.

At the Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, 60 photographers and visual artists will be gathering for the annual FOTOfusion through Saturday Lots of programs worth checking out.

Movie pick of the week: Twentieth Century Woman, with Annette Bening and Billy Crudup.

Directly from Birdland in New York City, it’s Billy Stritch and Jim Caruso cast party at the The Fieldhouse at Old School Square, February 1^st. An evening full of entertainment and fun.

Billy is a friend of mine, and his shows are always fantastic!
