The Santa Fe Farmers Market, which takes place every Saturday morning throughout the year, is one of the best Farmers Markets in the United States. You can find it down by the railroad tracks, filled with a variety of fresh produce and all kinds of handmade craft goods.

In Santa Fe they’re celebrating the 97th year of the Santa Fe Indian Market! It attracts an International crowd and has exquisite objects of art from the American Indians.

During the last week of August, enjoy the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival! There are events throughout the city, but mainly at the Santa Fe Opera, a fabulous venue all by itself.

So whether you’re strolling up and down Canyon Road as you explore the art gallery scene, or you’re down in West Palm Beach taking a walk down Clematis Street, remember, it’s all about style.

Bonnie’s Spin on The Berkshires

The Berkshire Mountains, in the Western part of Massachusetts, is a wonderful place in the summertime, and incredible for the fall foliage.

You can ride your bikes, go on hiking trails, river rafting and more, but the big attraction is really the farm to table foods at all the incredible restaurants. Enjoy the best of both worlds by taking a bike ride followed by a bite to eat downtown!

Head to Tanglewood if you want to see the Boston Pops Orchestra! You can also check out Herman Melville’s Arrowhead Museum in Pittsfield, the Norman Rockwell Museum, The Crane Museum of Paper Making,  and many other cultural as well as historical sites to suit your interests.

Jacob’s Pillow is an incredible company of dance programs, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival can’t be beat! In addition to dance and theater, Williams College has an amazing museum of art.

For a fun outdoor family activity, catch Flicks Under the Stars in Williamstown on Sundays all through July and August. Also, the Clark Center Walking Tour is happening weekly through September on their campus, and you can register here.

There are some wonderful Farmer’s Markets. The North Adams is one of the best, providing fresh locally produced food to the whole community.  The 44th Adams Agricultural Fair is one of the best area events open to the public.

Annapolis, Md. – The Chesapeake Bay Has it All

Annapolis, Maryland – such a great place to be – especially in the summer, because of its beauty! It’s especially enjoyable being right on the Chesapeake Bay.

In addition to the town itself being one of the most historic towns in the country, it’s very well preserved with good shops and restaurants.

There are many outdoor activities to do near Maryland’s capital city, such as boating, kayaking, water paddling, and swimming. There are plenty of things to do to keep you and the family cooled down!

During summertime in Annapolis, there are more festivals than you can imagine. In August, the Rotary Club does the Annual Crab Fest, featuring some of the best fresh crab you’ll ever taste! Over 2,500 people end up coming to eat 345 bushels of crab meat.

Every Sunday starting August 5th through November, experience the First Sunday Arts Fest, where over 100 local and regional artists display their works in the Arts District of downtown.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival is the second largest in the country, and not to be missed! It’s in its 41st season, and will be held in Revel Grove. It starts at the end of August and goes through September. There are over 130 craft shops and 42 food outlets.

Portland, Maine – one of the most beautiful spots to visit during the summer months. Cool and delicious!

You’re going to go for a boat ride on Casco Bay! There are wonderful ways to enjoy the Portland area, including sight-seeing tours that are aboard a vintage fire engine and fun for the entire family.

There are fabulous restaurants – the culinary scene is quite sophisticated. In the area of the old historic town, they probably have the freshest lobster in the United States.

Savory Charleston, SC, the Low Country

Are you ready to drive for a day from West Palm Beach to reach a fabulous destination? Head out for the Low Country; Charleston, South Carolina is sizzling with activities, and so friendly to visitors!

This time of year, it’s just great to walk or ride a bike over the Cooper River, on the Arthur Ravenelle Junior Bridge! The views are the best from the Mount Pleasant side.

One of the best beaches to visit is on Sullivan’s Island. It’s usually not quite as crowded as the others, and just exquisite. Or, you could also do a picnic in Hampton Park! All of these activities are great to do with the whole family.

If you’d like to see an Eighteenth Century house that’s completely preserved, go to Drayton Hall, a plantation that will take you back into time!

Don’t miss Angel Oak, which is located just outside of Charleston on John’s Island. It’s about 66 feet tall and 28 feet in circumference, and it’s over 500 years old!
