Bonnie’s Buzzing About Santa Fe, New Mexico

Sunny, beautiful, Santa Fe! It’s often voted one of the best cities in the US for weather, so it’s a great place to visit any time of the year.

Enjoy the programs put on by the Santa Fe School of Cooking, where you can take cooking classes, and cultural cuisine tours. Combine your love of cooking and history for the Half Day Santa Fe Food and History Walking Tour!

Canyon Road is famed for its’ art, and there’s even a walking tour to guide you to all the best artisan hotspots. For something a little more immersive, check out Meow Wolf, “House of Eternal Return,” the permanent interactive walk-through art installation created by a collaborative of young artists. It’s a must-see!

Culturally, there is just so much to explore in this Southwestern City. Don’t miss the International Museum of Folk Art, where you can learn all about the indigenous cultures of the Southwest, and others around the world. Bonnie’s Buzzing About Tucson, Arizona

I love this desert city in the sun – here are some of my favorite things to do in Tucson, Arizona!

The first thing you’ll want to do is explore the beautiful desert landscape. Start at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum! It’s almost 100 acres featuring an aquarium, a zoo, a botanical garden and more. Be sure to take a hike in the Sabino Canyon, and enjoy the many trails through the beautiful arid scenery.

Tucson has been called a “mini-mecca for the arts,” so you don’t want to miss our on the vibrant art scene. The Philabaum Glass Gallery Studio will be open all summer long, Don’t miss the Tucson Museum of Art, and there is even a guide to all the murals in the city, which you can view by clicking here.

Escape the heat with a visit to Tucson’s most beloved Gaslight Theatre! Fabulous, entertaining shows in a historic venue. My friend Susan Claassen started The Invisible Theatre, and it’s now highly respected – don’t miss it! If you want some more history, consider the Historic Biking Tour! There are so many ways to enjoy this beautiful Southwest city – what are you waiting for?

Whether you’re hiking the top of a Southwest mountain, or attending a theatre show, remember, it’s all about style!

Bonnie’s Buzzing About Carmel, California

Carmel by the Sea, California! There are so many cultural things to do in this town, along with the best of the beach activities to boot.

Upon arriving to the area, treat yourself to the famous 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach. Photo opportunities abound throughout this picture-perfect California landscape. There are multiple beaches to enjoy in the area, such as Monterey State Park, a perfect spot for a picnic.

Carmel has a rich culture of art appreciation, and there are many art workshops and art events throughout the summer. Click here for a link to the full list. Meet local artists, visit galleries and more. Of course, it wouldn’t be a California trip without some wine-tasting! Hop around to the various vineyards on the list, or stay at a seaside Inn for the full experience.

Great places to shop, sightsee and wine taste in Carmel.

The Carmel Plaza is an excellent place for some shopping, where you can also enjoy a cool drink and escape from the summer heat. Don’t forget to visit the Carmel Mission, a beautiful historical building with cultural ties to Carmel. There are so many fun places to explore in Carmel.

Visit the art galleries, state parks and more near California’s beautiful Northern Coast.

Bonnie’s Buzzing About Our Nation’s Capitol: Washington DC

Happy Birthday to the United States of America! Fellow patriots, these are the must-see spectacles for the Fourth of July and midsummer in Washington D.C.

Line up on Constitution Avenue for the National Independence Day Parade! Watch as military men and women, drum corps, fancy floats and more parade through the streets. A Capitol Fourth is a free concert on the lawn of the Capitol Building, and of course, there are many spots to get a great look at the fireworks with the backdrop of our National Monuments.

You know I’m a fan of festivals, and DC has a few that look just spectacular!From June 7th through the 16th, enjoy the DC Jazz Festival! National and local artists alike will be giving performances all over the city, including at jazz clubs and local hotspots. See the event list and get your tickets here. By The People is a citywide arts festival from June 15th through the 23rd is taking over the DC Arts District and includes performances, art and more.

Washington DC has a vibrant arts and culture scene to explore, which is why you’ll want to wander through the Arts District. Special events, musical performances and more abound in the many cultural centers sprinkled throughout the district. One hotspot you won’t want to miss is the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Museum. See portraits of popular figures from presidents to pop icons.

Bonnie’s Buzzing About Boston

Beautiful Boston, one of our country’s most historic cities! It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy the sea breeze in this fabulous modern metropolis and all it has to offer in the summer month of June.

Enjoy a Father’s Day Brunch Cruise on June 16th down the Charles River! There will be mimosas, beers, and an assortment of pastries. If you want more ways to enjoy the outdoors, the Rose Garden Party on June 18th benefits public parks and city programs. Party in the garden and enjoy the spring flowers for a great cause.

If you love Nature and music, Tanglewood is the event for you. In season from June 15th until August 25th, see the Boston Symphony Orchestra live on a gorgeous outdoor stage in the Berkshire Hills. A beautiful event for an evening out! Also, don’t miss the phenomenal Williamstown Theatre Festival, beginning on June 25th until August 18th. They put on classic plays as well as new ones, and have an assortment of classes, workshops and educational programs for all ages.

If you’re feeling adventurous, consider discovering Gloucester, home of the city-wide party, St. Peter’s Fiesta! Remember, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is a great place to see amazing works of art and escape the summer heat.
