Finding the Piece to the Puzzle

After coming to Nantucket for twenty summer seasons, I’m proud to be part of the community, and want to give something back to this island. I enjoy taking part in many charitable endeavors to make this magical spot better for everyone who calls this place home.

Walking for a good cause feels like wearing a pair of comfortable shoes. It’s satisfying, and you feel like with every step you’re getting closer to the finish line of finding a cure. It was a beautiful day in Nantucket for the Autism Speaks Walk. I’m proud to march for such a wonderful cause.

Another organization on island creating opportunity for youth and families is the Boys and Girls Club, and I was excited to be a part of their latest fundraiser. My friends Kim, Maria and Lucile were also at the event to contribute to the cause. It was wonderful to see them.

Fun is everywhere on this island, even the sandy parts… Nantucket’s 43rd Annual Sculpture and Sand Castle Day was the perfect complement to the Nantucket Race Week. Race Week is another piece to the community puzzle here on island; a nine-day experience that brings the town together for a week of ceremonies, regattas, and fantastic parties. My fiancé Andy Fleschner and I volunteered as “crew.”

“Nantucket Race Week is hosted by the Nantucket Yacht Club and the Great Harbor Yacht Club to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing (NCS), a non-profit, educational organization that provides affordable access to sailing and water sports to the public.”

As an island surrounded by breathtaking shorelines, the Nantucket community knows how to make the most of their gorgeous beaches during the summer season. To top it off, the biggest event of the year on island is the performance of The Boston Pops Orchestra on the beach. A total of 8,000 people gathered to hear the beautiful music. We sipped rosé and enjoyed a summer salad as we were serenaded. It was a fantastic benefit picnic to help raise money for the Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

For me, not only does this island fill the missing piece that makes my year complete, personal and business wise. It is being part of the grassroots effort for community causes that makes the whole puzzle a beautiful picture.

Beautiful Nantucket
Nantucket at its best.
Until next time…Always remember my three Golden Rules to dress by:
  1. Build Your Wardrobe with classic pieces.
  2. Liven Your Wardrobe with fun novelty items.
  3. Tweak Your Wardrobe with touches of color.

Feel good, and look even better!

Enjoy these warm sunny days,
